Archaeologists discovered the oldest Honey in Georgia and Scientists claim that honey is 5,500 years old. The Caucasian honeybee originates from the high valleys of the Central Caucasus. Georgia is the “central homeland” for the subspecies. Georgian bee received 3 Gold medals at international events. Georgian Gold Bee has the longest proboscis -7.3 mm, which is the longest among the honey-bees available on the earth and so can extract nectar from the deepest nectar tissues where no other species can.

Georgia is the home of Caucasus mountains. 75% of country is mountainous. Georgian mountains have a very rich flora, the home for 13,300 species, out of which 380 are endemic. The Lebarde beauty brand was founded in 2019 by Maia Gigiberia.

Maia is from west of Georgia, Colchis. Lebarde is the name of the abundant resort in the west of Georgia and the name represents the wild Nature of Alp mountains. Maia grew up in a family of pharmacists and from her childhood was curious about having a healthy lifestyle. 

The idea of creating the Lebarde beauty brand came to Maia when she found a solution to her own skin problem. She had very sensitive skin and could not use facial products containing synthetics or artificial chemicals. She tried natural and organic skincare products, but even these did not help. She was offered expensive dermatological procedures, but she turned down any skin injections and set about making her own skincare product.

Maia was inspired by her ancestor, MEDEA , the daughter of king Colchis, who invented the first natural cosmetics and medicines in 12th century BC. The name of medicine is obviously related to Medea. Maia did her botanical and cosmetological research, studied the flora and the life of bees, and came up with a truly effective skincare cream. She enjoyed investigating, exploring, and creating her product so much that she decided to turn her hobby into a business and represent the Beauty Heritage of ancient Georgia, Colchis. 

By using only natural, clean and healthy ingredients, Maia was able to solve her own skin problem. From a unique combination of honeybee products and endemic plants from the Alpine zone mountains of ancient Georgia, she created a formula suitable for all skin types.
